Export diversification and economic growth in Bangladesh

Although the growth in exports of Bangladesh over past few decades has been exemplary, it is enormously concentrated on just one industry which Ready Made Garment (RMG) sector. This dependence sector for export earnings places a vulnerable position. study examined relationship between diversification and rate Gross Domestic Product (GDP) using annual data from 1995 to 2020. The utilized Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) bounds test cointegration approach estimate long run error correction model determine existence short relationship. results indicate that there exists significant cointegrating overall economic Bangladesh. In term, if horizontal increases by 1%, GDP shall rise around 1.7%. Conversely, proven be insignificant. this implore should implement strategies policies will diversify its shift away dominance exporting
